New book: The Best Writing on Mathematics
Some time ago I came across a series of books called The Best Writing on Mathematics. Each volume is dedicated to a specific year. I bought the one for 2010, which opens with an introduction by William P. Thurston. The book is a collection of articles about math, gathered under different categories. The first one, as far as I could follow, is about how the same logic works for both true and untrue statements. I'll confess it's not an easy read for a non-mathematician, or at least not for me. I've been reading a couple of pages each night before bed. So far so good.
